Inviting Applications for Manager / Sr Manager for the Department of Career Development at NIST University, Berhampur, Odisha

NIST University is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the Career Development Department – Placement Cell. The incumbent will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining strong connections with industry partners, facilitating student placements, and ensuring the successful integration of our graduates into the workforce. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Employer Relations & Outreach: 

• Develop and nurture relationships with potential employers to facilitate placement opportunities for students.
• Collaborate with industry professionals to understand current market trends, skill requirements and job opportunities. Invite some of them to conduct talks and workshops for student development.
• Build a steady pipeline of potential employer connects by engaging with professional social media platforms, TPO and HR forums, etc.
• Build relationships in the Government & Public sector. 

2. Training: 

• Identify training and assessment needs of students of different courses and streams and suggest suitable training programs and partners.
• Coordinate with training partners and monitor and ensure proper delivery of training modules within pre-decided schedules.

3. Student Engagement: 

• Conduct workshops, seminars and training sessions to enhance students' employability skills.
• Ensure students are attending such sessions and monitor progress in their employability.

4. Placement Coordination: 

• Work closely with academic departments to identify students eligible for placement and internship opportunities and ensure opportunities are getting shared amongst relevant students.
• Lead and supervise placement drives on-campus and provide guidance for off-campus recruitment drives. 
• Supervise hospitality and logistics issues during on-campus drives. 

5. Documentation and Reporting: 

• Maintain accurate records of student placements, including placement statistics, feedback from employers, trainings conducted, offer letters, etc. 
• Prepare regular reports on placement activities and outcomes for management review. 

6. Alumni Relations: 

• Engage with alumni to create a network that supports current students in their career development. 

Essential Qualification: 

• Minimum 10 Years of experience, with at least 3 years’ experience in Career Services in Education sector and at least 5 years in Industry.
• BTech or MBA or both from reputed institutes. 
• Knowledge of current industry trends and job market demands.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. 
• Excellent leadership and team-working skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant tools.
