The NIST University, Institute Park, Berhampur, Odisha (www.nist.edu) is inviting applications for a full-time position of Dean of Career Development.

Requirements

This is a leadership position supporting the entire spectrum of career development including training, placement, internship, higher education, and entrepreneurship for the students at the university. The university has a diverse student community including schools of engineering, science, management and health science (with UG/PG/PhD programs in multiple disciplines). The candidate is expected to have:

• Excellent corporate relationship with international, multi-national Indian companies.  Must collaborate and maintain corporate relationships at the highest level that can result in good institute-corporate interface and placement for students.
• Awareness of the process and modalities for placement and internship of students in government, public, and private sectors.
• A proven track record of achieving significant growth in student internship and placement in a higher education setting and success with negotiating student pay packages; and extensive experience (8-10 years minimum) in placement and internship of students at a university level.
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, excellent communication skills, analytical and critical thinking, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, proficiency with digital tools/techniques (e.g., Excel, CRM ...), and marketing skills. The person must be self-driven.
• Preferably should be  postgraduate or higher degree in management, engineering or related field.

Key Responsibilities

1. Building relationships with industries to enhance student placement and continued placement growth
2. Placement and internship of students in private, public and government sectors
3. Coordination with the R&D team/HoDs to enable students to pursue opportunities in higher education in India or abroad
4. Coordination with the head of the entrepreneurship cell and drive policy to encourage students to pursue a career as an entrepreneur.
5. Developing pre-placement training programs internally or leveraging 3rd party to improve student placement outcomes.
6. Manage, mentor and lead placement and internship department’s team members
7. Coordinate with large alumni community for placement and internship
